DEC. 17

OK this is not the kids but Todd and I.  We were watching Mysterious Diagnosis” and the room was quite silent.  We looked at each other and I said, “you know it is really sad that we know all the medical terms they are using. “  Todd looked at me and said, “I was just going to say that.”

DEC. 16

We had finished dinner and Hannah was in the kitchen.  It was pretty quiet and I asked Hannah “what are you doing?”  There was a pause and then  Hannah replied, “ummmmmm”  pause, “you don’t want to know.”    Fortunate for us, all she was doing was putting princess stickers on her shirt.

OCT. 28

Hannah was having a terrible time eating dinner tonight.  She had thrown up three times and had been sitting in pain for quite awhile.  I finally picked her up and was holding her tight.  I asked her, “What are you thinking about baby?”  She answered, “I’m thinking about Christmas.”    Amazing, after all that, she is thinking about Christmas.  We just may have to put up our Christmas decorations up really early this year.

OCT. 5 -

This morning Hannah was looking at a craft magazine.  She grabs me and says “look Mom it is baby genius!”  I am thinking what is baby genius?  I look at the magazine, “Oh Hannah you mean Baby Jesus!”  She starts to laugh, “oh yeah Baby Jesus!” 

We are in the car driving home from church.  Walker, with glee in his voice says, “There is no school in heaven!”  Obviously they were talking about heaven today.

SEPT 27, 2008

Hannah is talking to my friend Kim at a March of Dimes fundraiser.  She asks Kim, “is that a tootat on your leg?”  pointing to Kim’s Mickey Mouse tattoo.

SEPT 25, 2008

Walker was telling us about his Acting Apprentices club and telling us that they are doing something about “Snow Dogs”.  So we start talking about snow dogs and how they would pull sleds.  We asked Walker what would a dog pull?  He said nothing so we started throwing out ideas.  I asked him if a dog would pull a hippo on a sled.  He said no.  I asked him why, he thought about it.  He looks at me with this look of “Duh, Mom.”  He matter of factly states, “because a hippo is in the water!” 

SEPT 22, 2008

This one comes via Walker’s teacher. 

He came in today from recess and was limping pretty bad.  He told his teacher he hurt his leg and she said well lets look at it.  He pulls up his pants leg up to his knee and she says well it looks ok.  He says, “It’s not ok on the inside!” 

With that he ended up with an icepack and all was well!

 

The other day I picked up Hannah from school.  She gets in the car and tells me, “We had a tomato drill today.” 

“A what?”

“A tomato drill, it is a lot quiet then a fire drill.”

Key: tomato drill = tornado drill

 

SUNDAY SEPT. 21

We are driving home from the store.  Walker, looking at the clouds says, “Look, God is doing something!”

How profound!  Hey everyone  “Look, God is doing something and He is right next to you!”
